Magic Hill – we are interested in children
The period of pre-school and early school age is fundamental for the entire future of children. Arrival at pre-school school and, later, at elementary school is a period of expectation for children; they literally soak up all inputs and information. If they receive support and motivation, they are enthusiastic and want to learn. In our schools, we are interested in children, and we therefore consider a friendly and non-directive approach to each individual as important, as we are convinced that learning can be effective only in a secure environment, based on trust and good relations.
In our school and pre-school, teachers are partners for children, guides on the path of education; their daily goal is not to pass on a maximum of information, but to awaken interest in a child, to motivate them towards searching, exploring, thinking, and thus towards learning.
At this age the attitude children set towards school, or more precisely learning, is one which will accompany them in the years to come. There is no doubt that they will learn also in the future, and it is necessary that they consider learning – even from this tender age – to be something that makes sense, which brings joy and delight, but also something where obstacles have to be overcome, which will require hard work and perseverence.
When working with children, we also place importance on the social skills of our pupils and the values they uphold, which is why we lead children towards cooperation, partnership, mutual communication, willingness to help, an interest in the surrounding world and a respectful attitude towards others and expecting respect towards themselves.
